![]() ![]() Someone please let me know if there already are completed/ongoing Faiz novel translations out there so I don’t make the same mistake again lol. If there’s enough interest, maybe I’ll keep doing Ryuki, but right now it just doesn’t feel worth the effort. However, I still have three Ryuki chapters translated, so I’ll just share those with you guys for now. Regardless, it might not be worth it to translate these compared to the other novels, but I’ll probably work on the Faiz novel instead. Now, I originally was going to start working Ryuki next, but as I was working on it, I found out that there actually are Ryuki novel translations already done, which can be found here, albeit a good chunk of them are only chapter summaries. I think it overall would have been better if it was longer. The writing style itself also often felt very simplistic compared to the previous novel I translated, Kuuga, which felt like it had a lot of nuance and weight to it, but I supposed that could be attributed to it being written by the writer of its show. Basically, the novel had a lot of good build-up but ultimately ended before much at all even happened. ![]() Oftentimes it felt like things were told differently from the show just for the sake of having something different. It did offer a bit more character background compared to the show in some aspects, but it didn’t actually do much unique with the characters themselves. I loved the Agito show and was intrigued by the concept of a retelling of the show, but the novel really did not do much to make itself stand out. Overall, I had fun translating this novel, but the content itself was honestly disappointing. But if you are Marathoning like I usually like to do, it can be A bit a bother or an annoyance. So the Agito novel is finally wrapped out. You can find the last chapter right here. In that it helps you remember what has occurred to a certain point if you haven't seen it in awhile and need a refresher. I am not saying that it doesn't take away from the series or are not necessary at all, I'm saying that I can do with out them but I understand that it's there for a purpose. ![]() Now what I didn't like (gripe) was the two filler/recap episodes, not going to say which episodes they are at the moment. But my 5 year old nephew liked it too as he would join my viewing sessions :) He & I loved his different Heisens suits and color variations! :p I Also liked that Whole meaning behind the Smile and The Thumbs up symbol, see I learned someone at the end of the series! :) The opening song and ending song are so addicting that it had me playing them both on repeat! It helped me like the series more as well associate it Godai Yuusuke aka Kuuga :) The other tracks as well are great! The plot and story was one that is not meant for children, it was for young adults, teens and adults since the dialogue and theme was one to deep for the kids to understand properly. I liked that the main characters did a good job giving life and substance to their characters and made me enjoy this drama that makes nostalgic in that I was a Teenager when this Series Aired :'( That one must not give up even though it looks like a losing battle, one must keep on trying to beat and over come evil. What I liked about Kamen Rider Kuuga is that it was a dark and was deep, to elaborate, I liked that this was dark in that the theme and stories were meant to make us all think about what the characters were going through, we could relate to them (the lessons), that the good guys don't always win and take a beating. I will try to keep it nice and short for everyone's sake and mine because I can go off in novel style. So bare with me if it's not up to par with those that are way more seasoned writers/reviewers. Rewatch Value 9.0 So This is my first official review for a Drama & The first for Kamen Rider Kuuga. ![]()
